Optimize Your System for Metro Vancouver Water Restrictions
Metro Vancouver implements annual lawn watering restrictions from May 1 to October 15
to conserve water during the dry summer months. These restrictions apply to both residential and commercial propertie.

In summer, you can only water your lawn once a week. However, watering your garden beds is usually allowed daily. If your sprinkler system doesn’t have separate areas for your lawn and garden beds, your plants might not get enough water. We create separate zones for your lawn and garden beds, so each area gets the right amount of water while still following the rules.

While lawns are restricted to watering once a week and garden beds sprinkler systems are limited to early mornings, drip irrigation systems are exempt from these restrictions. Our drip irrigation solutions deliver water directly to the roots of your plants, maximizing efficiency, reducing waste, and keeping your garden thriving all summer long.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should my irrigation system be serviced?
We recommend servicing your irrigation system at least twice a year—a spring start-up with inspection and a winter shut-down with winterization—to ensure it runs efficiently and prevents costly repairs.
Can you upgrade my existing irrigation system?
Absolutely! We can upgrade older systems to improve performance and efficiency.
Is it possible to control the system remotely?
Yes, many modern irrigation systems can be controlled remotely through smartphone apps or web interfaces, giving you flexibility and control from anywhere.
Does an automatic irrigation system save water?
Yes! Automatic systems deliver the right amount of water at the right time, reducing waste and ensuring your garden stays healthy while conserving water.
How do smart controllers work?
Smart controllers use weather data, soil moisture levels, and real-time updates to adjust watering schedules automatically, ensuring optimal water use and healthier plants.
How do water restrictions affect my garden beds if my garden beds, trees, shrubs, or flowers are in the same zone as my lawn?
Since you can only water your lawn once a week, and watering your garden beds is typically allowed daily, it’s important to have separate zones for each. If your sprinkler system doesn’t have separate zones, your plants might not get enough water. We can either design a new system with dedicated zones or split your existing zones to ensure your lawn and garden beds each get the right amount of water, all while complying with local water restrictions.
